POEM

i wrote this inspired by izzy having re-brought the abcedarian form to my mind & greta having read me a letter while i was eating breakfast / the letter was from one female artist to another, both awesome but can’t remember .. oh definitely eva hesse was one ? / the gist was about being yourself despite everyone & happily making a mess, a lot of great fierce assonance like ‘dilly-dally,’ or ‘flounce, floss, fleece’ - that sort of pitter patter.. love it

The world will nip at your ankles.
Thankfully:
acceptable to do nothing.
Thankfully:
it’s all avalache,
or it’s zesty zilch
& this barky bitey beast
is more scared of you than you are.
Thankfully:
this room is yours
and you may recklessly:

air grievances.
bare your teeth.
chair evade.
dare, dream, dare, dream.
empty everything into the ocean.
fare evade.
generate unkempt ideas.
hack off your hair.
impulse-buy.
just dance.
koala-hug the moon.
leave, unannounced.
make mischief in midair.
nightride to nowhere
only to nightcall nobody.
perforate a prayer.
quash a questionnaire.
repair your desertion rate.
stare into your screen-self.
take care.
unpick the flag of unfair.
vacillate aerobically.
wear out your friends’ arms.
xenophobe the xenophobic.
yell wishes down abysses.
zigzag, no flair, into the forest.
